The Unternberg Alm at the summit of Unternberg in Ruhpolding was completely rebuilt in 2017. With plenty of wood for coziness, large windows, and a breathtaking view, you can enjoy a fantastic panorama of the Chiemgau mountains such as Sonntagshorn, Hörndlwand, Hochfelln, and the Austrian mountains with the Loferer Steinbergen and the Wilder Kaiser. You won't miss grand sunsets, even from inside our Alm through the generous panoramic windows. Our team spoils you with a 'oimerisch - modern' cuisine. We are accessible on foot or by train in both summer and winter. The Unternberg is an excellent destination for sports enthusiasts and connoisseurs all year round. In summer, you can earn your snack by taking a simple hike along a well-developed forest path. For those arriving by train, a leisurely walk to the mountain rescue hut allows you to enjoy the mountain panorama along the high trail. Mountain bikers will also find plenty to enjoy at Unternberg. On our large sun terrace with a 360° mountain panorama, the beer tastes even better. You want to enjoy an unforgettable sunset there? On Thursdays, we are open until 10 PM in good weather. In winter, a ski touring trail leads to the Alm, or you can take the direct route over the old ski slope. Since there is no ski operation at the chairlift anymore, ski tourers can enjoy the area in peace. We have ski touring evenings every Tuesday and Thursday, and our Alm is open until 10 PM (don't forget your headlamp). Of course, the ascent is also possible with snowshoes and, under suitable conditions and with appropriate footwear (spikes and poles), can also be done on foot along the forest path.
