The Taubensteinhaus is a publicly accessible, managed hut (Category II) of the Munich section, located at an altitude of 1567 meters in the Spitzingsee area, nestled between Aiplspitz and Rotwand, offering a magnificent view of Geitau and Wendelstein. It serves as a perfect starting point for enjoyable hikes for families with children, ski tours, or snowshoe hikes. In summer, the hut can be reached on foot from Spitzingsee or Geitau, and even more conveniently via the Taubensteinbahn. In winter, it is a popular destination for ski tours or snowshoe hikes. The Taubensteinhaus is a base for numerous, even more ambitious tour destinations such as Aiplspitz, Jägerkamp, Taubenstein, Hochmiesing, or Rotwand. The Munich section took over the Taubensteinhaus in 2022 to preserve it for the Alpine Club family.
