The noble horse of the Swedish King Gustav II Adolf has been history since 1632 and now resides in the city museum of Ingolstadt. The Schwedenschimmel, opened in 2004 by Hans Eckl, is very much alive and enjoys great popularity. The inspiring interior of the bar, with its modern-puristic ambiance and lovingly prepared tapas in all variations, has long made it a culinary insider tip. The creations by Hans Eckl are genuine, authentic, surprising, and varied, prepared fresh every day. The kitchen and interior bear his unmistakable signature. With craftsmanship, creativity, and a passion for the best ingredients, Hans continually conjures up new delights - including vegetarian and vegan variations. The minimalist and artistic presentation of the premises includes a reception area with a counter and bar stools leading directly into the dining area with solid wooden tables and Vitra and LaPalma chairs. A subtle stone floor, white walls, and halogen spotlights draw attention to the large paintings on the walls. Stylish decorative elements and tableware, specially made for the tapas bar, ensure coziness. For meetings, conferences, and as a meeting room, this place is perfect as it elevates creativity and communication to a new level. Up to 50 guests can be accommodated here, making Schwedenschimmel also suitable for various private celebrations. Your host, Hans Eckl, is happy to create a personalized offer for you. The eye also eats – not just on the plate. The understated and simple ambiance provides an excellent platform for regional and national artists to showcase their works. Schwedenschimmel is a small art gallery with regularly changing exhibitions. The range of exhibited pieces includes painting, photography, sculptures, experimental, and handcrafted art. Hans is a true all-rounder in the culinary field. His ideas begin at the edge of the plate and lead from there to the whole world. Sometimes he delights his guests with 'Oysters & Champagne' or a 'Wine Tasting & Tapas' with homemade bread. At other times, you can find him in his unique lasagna food truck, Thyme and Rocket, in Germany, offering handmade lasagna in classic or vegetarian variants – either to eat on the go or to take away.
