About Schloss Montfort Langenargen

Schloss Montfort has a long history, originally envisioned as a pleasure palace by Wilhelm I of Württemberg in 1861. The ruins were demolished to construct the castle, which was named 'Villa Argena'. After the death of the king in 1864, his son renamed it to 'Schloss Montfort'. It served as a summer residence for the royal family and later underwent several transformations, becoming a tourist site. The castle features classical and Moorish architectural elements, a concert shell in the garden, and is surrounded by beautiful views of Lake Constance. It hosts various cultural events and offers facilities for weddings and conferences.
