The Hinterwaldkopf Hütte offers all the prerequisites for a pleasant stay and relaxing, eventful hours throughout the year. The hut is a mountain inn located at an altitude of 1120 meters, east of the Hinterwaldkopf (1198 m). Surrounding the hut are open and sunny mountain meadows. The Dr. Ganter economic path runs past the Hinterwaldkopf Hütte. Dr. Ganter was a forestry advisor, whose initiative led to the construction of a timber transport path into the Zastlertal. From the nearby Hinterwaldkopf, beautiful views of the region can be enjoyed, especially of the Dreisamtal. In December 1994, the old Hinterwaldkopf Hütte burned down to its foundations. However, the Weilersbacher Weidegemeinschaft spared neither expense nor effort to rebuild the Hinterwaldkopf Hütte. After two years of work, the current building was completed. In old maps, the hut is often referred to as the Weilersbacher Viehhütte.
