South of Hochfelln, at 1,325 meters, the forest clears to reveal a Bavarian picture-book idyll: the area of Haaralmen. This 54-hectare pasture area includes a total of 6 rustic high alpine pastures, and from there it is not far to the namesake Haaralmschneid, which offers a magnificent panoramic view that justifies the effort of the ascent. The so-called 'Kaser' alternate in their management annually and reward their visitors with freshly baked cakes and steaming coffee, as well as Bavarian snack specialties.
