Welcome to Gasthof Glashütte! Our inn has been around since July 12, 1698. One of the Tegernsee monks once attempted to establish a glassblowing workshop here. The name 'Glashütte' was given to the small village only in 1808 after the founding of the municipality of Kreuth. Even today, the main parlor is heated by a tiled stove and not centrally heated. In the past and now, a cozy atmosphere quickly arises here: formerly poachers, hunters, smugglers, glassblowers, pastors, road workers, and travelers to Tyrol gathered at the foot of the Roß- and Buchstein. The border to Austria and the Achensee is not far away. Today, hikers, cyclists, day-trippers to the Tegernsee Valley, and locals populate the wonderful beer garden (with a bakery) in summer. Our inn is a starting point for hikes, for example, to Hochalm or Tegernseer Hütte. Winter attracts cross-country skiers to the inn, as the nearly 23-kilometer-long, mostly flat Kreuth – Glashütte loop course ends here with a skating track over four kilometers. (Can also be traveled in sections.) We have ample parking available at the house. Also, art lovers are drawn to this district of Kreuth, as the Baroque church 'Mariä Heimsuchung' next to the inn offers the mysterious 'Glashütter Madonna' on the crescent moon, where the face of 'Frau Welt' can be seen. A St. Anna selbdritt in half-figures and St. Notburga – patron saint of maids – are also rare church representations. As you can see from our menu, you have a choice between hearty home cooking, salads, and vegetarian dishes.
