About Gasthaus Fischerrosl

Once upon a time long ago... and so it comes that no one really knows how old our Fischerrosl in the beautiful St. Heinrich on Lake Starnberg really is. It is rumored that the foundations of the building date back to the 16th century. Many well-known writers and painters have enjoyed the finest fish and meat dishes in the cozy guest room. King Ludwig II also liked to stop by here. This prompted Mr. Maximilian Schmidt to write a special local novel titled 'Die Fischerrosl von St. Heinrich – Ein Lebensbild vom Starnberger See um 1840' on behalf of the king. Moreover, the German humorist and caricaturist Loriot immortalized himself several times in the guestbook of the Fischerrosl. The legendary Fischerrosl is a true traditional inn on Lake Starnberg. For a whole century, the well-known fish restaurant was run by the local Bader family. Since 2018, the Fischerrosl has been our home and place of longing, and we strive to live up to the great reputation of the Rosl. In our restaurant, we place the utmost importance on using seasonal and high-quality products from the surrounding area. We cook according to the season – from the field and from the lake directly to your plate. Our team reflects our diverse cuisine – old Bavarian and traditional, creative and modern, young and international, inclusive. On our menu, you will find not only the finest fish and meat dishes but also vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free delicacies. There should be something for every one of our guests.
