'Drachenburg' is the nickname given by the residents of Marktbreit to the mighty stone building above the old town, still guarded by dragons and gargoyles. The large rubble stone house was built in 1926 by wine merchant Carl Pelzer. His son Bernhard Pelzer and wife Lilo opened a cozy wine tavern with rustic snacks in 1968. Their son Alexander Pelzer, trained as a chef and restaurant specialist, has been managing the house since 1990, transforming the wine tavern into a well-known restaurant. His wife Doris leads the friendly service, ensuring guests feel welcome and comfortable in the fourth 'Pelzer Generation'.
