Welcome to the Thai restaurant 'Chang-Tong', which means 'Golden Elephant'. Allow us to give you a brief introduction to Thai cuisine. In Thailand, various dishes are eaten simultaneously with a spoon and fork, and chopsticks are rarely used except for specific dishes. You will notice that food means much more to Thais than just mere sustenance. The care with which the dishes are prepared, assembled, and presented is remarkable. You can expect an extremely artistic composition of Thai culinary culture. Not only fish, meat, vegetables, and fruits are available, but everything is also offered in various preparation styles. A spicy dish is balanced with a mild one, a sweet-sour dish is complemented by a spicy-sour one, a fried or grilled dish is paired with a steamed one, and a liquid dish is served alongside a solid, crispy one that encourages chewing. All these delicacies are, according to Thai belief, merely an accompaniment to the centerpiece of the meal – rice.
