About Brauhaus 1516

Brauhaus 1516 – From tradition – Whether for a cozy beer or a hearty dinner. Brauhaus 1516 offers the right atmosphere! Ingolstadt and beer – this is a special connection. On April 23, 1516, the 'Bavarian Purity Law' was enacted here, which still holds in breweries today. Nothing but barley (malt), hops, water, and yeast should be used in brewing beer. This historical principle is particularly adhered to at Brauhaus 1516, and for good reason. The inn boasts the only 'shopping center brewery' in Europe. In the middle of the dining area, visible to everyone, stands a modern microbrewery. As a visitor, you gain a direct impression of how complex it is to produce good beer. The decommissioned facility illustrates in detail the steps necessary. It serves excellently to visualize the brewing process. Visit Brauhaus 1516 to see the various branches that extend almost throughout the entire establishment for yourself. True to our name, we primarily identify with the Bavarian Purity Law, which was declared law in 1516 in Ingolstadt for all Bavarian brewers. We only serve beer that adheres to this guideline.
