The akademie für darstellende kunst adk-ulm gGmbH is a state-recognized vocational college founded in 1996. It is one of the largest German acting schools in independent sponsorship, with over 300 graduates. The adk-ulm is ERASMUS+ accredited and a member of the Federal Association for Theater Pedagogy (BUT) and the German Stage Association. The institution has a strong reputation within the theater landscape in Germany, with nearly 90% of graduates still working in their trained profession or related fields. Training is offered in acting, directing, theater pedagogy, screenwriting, and dramaturgy, with a maximum of 35 training places. As one of the few acting schools in Europe, it also trains individuals with physical disabilities, offering one inclusive training place per year. Students are provided with an artistic development field tailored to their individual talents and personalities to facilitate the best possible career entry. Additional modules include singing, puppet theater, and scriptwriting. A minimum of a 14-day internship abroad is part of the training. The qualification corresponds to a bachelor's degree and is recognized worldwide.
