Impact of Climate Change on Skin Health: A Press Briefing

On April 24, 2025, a press briefing will take place focusing on the effects of climate change on skin health, as part of the 2025 Month of Skin Health initiative. Esteemed experts will discuss how rising temperatures, UV radiation, and emerging pathogens and allergens challenge the human skin, our largest organ.

The event will cover critical topics including:

  • The implications of climate change for residents of Austria
  • Health impacts of global warming
  • The connection between climate change and skin disorders
  • Effects of climate change on individuals with respiratory allergies

Among the featured speakers are:

  • Emeritus Professor Dr. Helga Kromp-Kolb from the Centre for Global Change and Sustainability at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna
  • Associate Professor Dr. Hans-Peter Hutter from the Centre for Public Health, Medical University of Vienna
  • Primarius Dr. Robert Müllegger from the Wiener Neustadt Regional Hospital and the Austrian Society for Dermatology and Venereology
  • Primarius Professor Dr. Stefan Wöhrl from the Floridsdorf Allergy Centre in Vienna
