Escaped prisoner hands himself in

Erding. The prisoner who escaped on Tuesday afternoon from Erding prison came back late at night by himself.

The 25 year old apparently recognized his desperate situation and around 22.30, completely exhausted and with very dirty clothes, voluntarily returned to the prison. Erding police says that the prisoner could not cope with the pressure built up by the search operation. About 70 officials were involved in the search for the escaped prisoner, who, as assumed, was hiding no further than one kilometer from the prison. He had blue prison clothes, which made it difficult to walk around unnoticed. He is now transferred to the JVA Landshut.
