Two Men Arrested for Vandalizing Aircraft at Bromma Airport
Early Wednesday morning, two individuals were apprehended for vandalizing planes at Bromma Airport, an incident described as property damage by law enforcement authorities.
Mats Eriksson, a spokesperson for the Stockholm police, confirmed that the suspects have been charged with serious property damage and violations of protective laws, given that the airport is classified as a protected site.
While there are currently no indications that the act was politically motivated, an environmental activist group has claimed responsibility for the vandalism. The organization announced on their website that they have initiated a three-week campaign aimed at disrupting air traffic in Sweden.
Following the incident, Eriksson acknowledged that police are aware of the group's plans for future demonstrations and have prepared accordingly to monitor the situation closely.
In response, Trafikverket, the Swedish Transport Administration, is also on alert regarding the group's intentions. Press spokesperson Deny Josefsson confirmed their awareness of potential disturbances and emphasized their collaboration with law enforcement to ensure safety and order.
The authorities remain vigilant as they anticipate further actions from the activist group, emphasizing the importance of being prepared for any occurrences that may arise.
