Tragic Accident Claims Life of 14-Year-Old Girl in Upper Austria

A tragic traffic accident occurred on Friday evening in the Urfahr-Umgebung district of Upper Austria, resulting in the death of a 14-year-old girl. Authorities confirmed the incident early Saturday morning. The accident took place around 5:45 PM in the municipality of Vorderweißenbach when a 42-year-old truck driver from Nepal, operating a vehicle registered in Croatia, lost control on a rain-slicked road.

As the truck approached a sharp right turn heading downhill, the trailer suddenly veered to the left, colliding with the rear of an oncoming car. The impact was severe, causing extensive damage to the left side of the car, which was being driven by a 42-year-old man.

Tragically, the 14-year-old girl, who was seated in the back left of the vehicle, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Emergency services quickly arrived, and the driver was extricated from the wreckage using rescue tools. He was subsequently airlifted to the UKH Linz hospital with serious injuries.

In addition to the driver, several passengers were affected. His 44-year-old wife, who was seated in the front passenger seat, along with their 14-year-old daughter sitting in the middle back seat, were also injured. Another 14-year-old girl, seated on the right side in the back, was transported to Rohrbach Hospital with unspecified injuries.
