Traffic Incident in Purgstall: Vehicle Ends Up in Ditch Next to Train Tracks

On Thursday night at approximately 10:10 PM, emergency services were dispatched to a traffic accident in the vicinity of the Erlauftalbahn railway line. The incident occurred at the entrance to Schauboden, where a car veered off the road and landed in a ditch adjacent to the railway tracks.

The driver, a woman, emerged from the vehicle unharmed and was subsequently provided assistance by the responding personnel. The Purgstall Fire Brigade arrived at the scene with three vehicles and 17 firefighters. Their initial actions involved securing the accident site, establishing a preventative fire safety measure, and preparing for the vehicle's recovery.

Once the area was cleared by the police and the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), the car was retrieved using a winch and was then safely parked away from the scene.

During the recovery operation, traffic was temporarily halted. After around an hour, the fire brigade successfully concluded their mission and returned to the station. In addition to the fire brigade, the Red Cross, police, and ÖBB were also present at the scene to assist with the situation.

For the duration of the vehicle recovery, the B25 road was closed to ensure safety.
