Sebastian Stockbauer Appointed Security Chief of ÖBB

Major Sebastian Stockbauer, who has served as the deputy commander of the city police in Baden, is set to take on the role of security chief at the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) starting November 1. This announcement has come as a surprise to the local government in Baden. The mayor expressed her satisfaction regarding Stockbauer's new position, acknowledging his dedicated service to the community.

The mayor noted that while the decision was unexpected, it is essential to seize new opportunities. She conveyed her best wishes for Stockbauer's future endeavors at ÖBB, highlighting his commitment to excellence in his previous role.

Stockbauer has been a part of the Baden city police since 2015 and took on the role of deputy commander in 2017, significantly influencing the security operations in the area.

With the upcoming retirement of the city police commander, Walter Santin, at the end of the year, the city is preparing for further changes within the police department. Measures are being put in place to ensure a smooth transition, and the city police have initiated a succession process to maintain continuity in leadership. The local government has emphasized that the safety and service for residents will remain a top priority during this transitional period.

Stockbauer is regarded as a commendable officer, having earned respect from both colleagues and the local community throughout his career. His new position at ÖBB will bring significant responsibilities as he will oversee the safety of the entire railway network.

As Baden bids farewell to a dedicated leader, the focus shifts towards ensuring a seamless appointment of a successor for the police chief role.
