Pope Francis Enjoys Ice Cream as Health Improves

Pope Francis is reportedly feeling better after spending 38 days in the hospital. As he continues his recovery at the Santa Marta guesthouse in Vatican City, the 88-year-old pontiff decided to indulge in some ice cream, a treat he has always enjoyed. The ice cream was delivered to him by Sebastiano Padron, an Argentine gelato shop owner based in Rome.

Despite the relatively cool temperatures, the Pope's love for ice cream remains unabated. According to a report from a Roman daily, he particularly favors flavors such as lemon, mango, and dulce de leche, a sweet caramel cream from his native Argentina. The ice cream is freshly produced at Padron's shop, which is conveniently located near the Vatican, on Via Gregorio VII, and is often shared with his staff as well.

With over 1,200 gelaterias, Rome is renowned for its diverse selection of ice cream parlors, offering Pope Francis the opportunity to explore various flavors and establishments should he wish to try something new.

As he recuperates, the Pope has expressed thoughts about healing, both spiritually and physically, reflecting on his recent health challenges. His physician has indicated that the Pope was aware of the seriousness of his condition during his hospitalization.
