Man Arrested for Attempting to Run Over Wife in Tirol
A 45-year-old man from Schwaz, Tirol, was arrested after reportedly threatening his family and attempting to run over his wife with his vehicle. According to local police, the incident occurred last Friday when the man allegedly confronted his 19-year-old son, his 43-year-old wife, and another individual, aged 45, with threats of violence.
In a distressing escalation, the suspect attempted to strike his wife with his car. When that effort failed, he resorted to physical violence, assaulting her with punches and kicks. Authorities responded to the situation by issuing a restraining order against him. However, later that same evening, the man allegedly threatened to set fire to the home of his wife.
Prior to making this threat, the suspect visited a gas station where he purchased a canister of gasoline, heightening concerns about his intentions. Following the alarming developments, his son contacted law enforcement, who apprehended the man near the residence.
Upon his arrest, the suspect partially admitted to his actions but denied any intention of committing arson. The prosecutor's office has since ordered his detention in a correctional facility, and he is currently held in pre-trial custody as investigations continue.
