Major Drug Trafficking Bust Across Multiple Nations

An extensive international operation targeting organized crime has led to the arrest of over 200 individuals across Turkey and several European nations. According to Turkish authorities, a total of 234 prominent members of a criminal organization were apprehended, with nine arrests occurring outside Turkey. The coordinated raids took place simultaneously in Turkey, Germany, Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

During these operations, law enforcement seized an impressive 21.2 tons of illegal drugs. The detained suspects are facing serious charges, including drug trafficking and money laundering. Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya emphasized the scale of the criminal networks involved, indicating that authorities are confronting a vast international operation.

The investigation has targeted four distinct groups engaged in organized crime, all of which have been implicated in the transportation of various drugs, including cocaine, heroin, and cannabis, from around the globe into Europe and Turkey.

This significant crackdown highlights the ongoing global battle against drug trafficking and organized crime, with authorities across multiple countries working collaboratively to dismantle these illicit operations.
