Major Road Rehabilitation Completed in Groß-Enzersdorf

The comprehensive rehabilitation of several key roads in the municipality of Groß-Enzersdorf has been successfully completed, addressing longstanding issues related to road damage and enhancing overall traffic safety and driving comfort in the region.

Extensive repairs were carried out on multiple sections of the B 3, L 3008, and L 3010 provincial roads. Prior to the renovations, these routes had shown significant signs of deterioration, including rutting, network cracks, and surface unevenness, falling short of current transportation standards and posing challenges for daily commuters and commercial vehicles alike.

On the B 3, a critical transport corridor, renovation works spanned approximately 1.3 kilometers between the intersections of B 3/L 3013 (Oberhausen) and B 3/Lobfeldweg (Wittau). Additionally, a 200-meter stretch at the western edge of Groß-Enzersdorf, between the B 3/L 11 roundabout and the Vienna city boundary, received a complete surface upgrade. The area around the intersection of B 3/Hand-Kudlich-Ring/Schießstatt-Ring up to just before the Danube-Oder Canal also underwent a thorough 700-meter-long refurbishment. In this segment, not only was the roadway restored, but adjacent infrastructure such as parking areas and elevated curbstones were improved, and drainage facilities were adapted to new functional requirements.

The L 3008 provincial road saw a 1.5-kilometer restoration from the B 3/L 3008 junction near Wittau heading towards Franzensdorf. Meanwhile, the L 3010 was renewed over a 1.3-kilometer distance between the northern boundary of Franzensdorf and the southern entrance to Rutzendorf. Across all upgraded sections, the work focused on renewing both the bearing and surface layers of the roadways. Where necessary, roadside shoulders were adjusted, and all road markings were reapplied to ensure clarity and safety for drivers.

The total cost for these infrastructure improvements amounted to approximately 1.5 million euros. The majority of the funding, around 1.4 million euros, was provided by the state of Lower Austria, with the municipality of Groß-Enzersdorf contributing roughly 100,000 euros. This combined investment reflects a strong commitment to maintaining modern, safe, and efficient transportation links within the region.

With the completion of these upgrades, residents and travelers in Groß-Enzersdorf can expect smoother journeys and improved road safety. The comprehensive approach to both the main carriageways and supporting infrastructure underscores the local and regional authorities' dedication to sustaining the quality and reliability of their transportation network.
