Police Apprehend Thief and Wanted Man at Frankfurt Airport
Frankfurt/Main - On September 19, 2025, two wanted individuals were apprehended by the federal police at Frankfurt Airport. The first case involved a 47-year-old Romanian man who seized an opportunity to steal a tablet belonging to a 25-year-old American. The theft occurred while the American was asleep at the Condor service center. The theft was uncovered when the victim realized his tablet was missing and promptly contacted law enforcement.
Thanks to surveillance footage, police were able to identify the suspect, who was soon found sleeping on a bench in Terminal 1. Upon his arrest, officers recovered the stolen tablet and returned it to its rightful owner. An investigation into the theft has been initiated.
In a separate incident, a 24-year-old Romanian man was arrested directly at the aircraft. He was wanted on a warrant issued by the public prosecutor's office in Nürnberg-Fürth for serious bodily harm. Additionally, he was sought by the Wuppertal public prosecutor for offenses related to driving without a license and fraud.
As he was unable to pay the required fines totaling almost EUR6,000, he was taken into custody and is now serving a sentence of 239 days at the Frankfurt am Main correctional facility.
