Rescue Operations Save Elderly Man from Ditch in Dürre Wien
Emergency services were called into action after a vigilant local resident spotted an elderly man who had fallen into the shallow bed of the Dürre Wien creek. The incident prompted immediate assistance from various agencies, including the Pressbaum Fire Department, First Responders from the Purkersdorf-Gablitz Red Cross, ASB Eichgraben, and the police.
Upon arrival, the fire department found that the man was already receiving care from the first responders. The team from Pressbaum quickly assessed the situation and determined that the best course of action was to clear the access to the approximately 2.5-meter deep ravine where the man had fallen. Utilizing specialized equipment, they carefully extricated him from the creek bed.
The elderly man was placed in a rescue stretcher, known as a Korbschleiftrage, and transported back to the road where he could be handed over to the medical emergency services for further evaluation and treatment. Thanks to the swift actions of the community and the coordinated response from the emergency teams, the man received timely assistance, highlighting the importance of community vigilance and rapid response in emergency situations.
