Charges Filed in Case of Abuse of Two Nine-Year-Old Boys in Vienna

The Vienna Public Prosecutor's Office has initiated legal proceedings against a 16-year-old male, charging him with rape and serious sexual abuse of minors. The alleged incidents reportedly took place during the summer months of the previous year in the Donaustadt district of Vienna, involving two nine-year-old boys. A court date has already been set for May 5, where the accused will face the charges at the regional court. Notably, a photography and filming ban has been imposed for the duration of the proceedings.

According to the details released, the events in question occurred on June 24 and 25 in a park area located near a residential neighborhood. It is alleged that the suspect lured the two young victims into a bush and subjected them to threats of severe violence, including intimidation about mutilation. This coercion reportedly prevented the boys, who were attending primary school, from fleeing, leading them to endure the actions described in the charges.

Following the identification of the suspect, authorities have uncovered another potential victim. This additional child, also underage, is believed to have had sexual intercourse with the accused at a time that will be specified in the main proceedings, which took place during the previous summer.

For the protection of the victims, the court has ruled that the public will largely be excluded from the hearings related to these offenses. This decision underscores the legal system's commitment to safeguarding the privacy and dignity of the young individuals involved.
