Two Young Men Assaulted and Robbed in Downtown Vienna
In a disturbing incident that occurred late Saturday night in downtown Vienna, two young men aged 17 and 19 were reportedly assaulted and robbed by a group of youths. According to police spokesperson Anna Gutt, the attack took place around midnight on Rotenturmstraße.
The victims informed authorities at the Kärntnertorpassage police station that they were surrounded by approximately ten individuals of similar age who began to physically assault them. During the attack, the assailants forcibly removed caps from the victims' heads and stole a wristwatch from one of them before fleeing the scene.
Both victims sustained facial injuries, with the 19-year-old Czech national requiring hospitalization due to the severity of his injuries. Meanwhile, the 17-year-old Austrian was treated and released to recover at home.
