20-Year-Old Arrested After Violently Assaulting Police in Vienna

A 20-year-old woman was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday morning in Vienna's Ottakring district after exhibiting aggressive behavior towards police officers. The incident began around 12:45 AM when witnesses reported a loud argument between a couple on Degengasse, prompting them to contact law enforcement.

Upon the officers' arrival, the woman displayed hostility and began shouting before attempting to flee the scene towards the city center. She was subsequently apprehended in the vicinity of Wichtelgasse.

Efforts by police to calm her down were unsuccessful, as she reacted with verbal abuse and physical aggression. The officers faced significant resistance, and the arrest required the combined efforts of five police personnel to subdue her. During the confrontation, the young woman not only kicked at the officers but also spat on them.

Following her arrest, a breathalyzer test indicated that she had a blood alcohol concentration of 2.4 per mille. She now faces multiple charges, including resisting arrest, intentional endangerment through communicable diseases, bodily harm, and aggravated assault.
