Warm Spring Weather Set to Return - Temperatures May Reach 20 Degrees

Fri 25th Apr, 2025

Starting Monday of next week, warmer air from the southwest is expected to move into Sweden. According to the latest forecasts from the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI), southern Sweden could see temperatures rise to around 18 degrees Celsius.

However, strong winds may create a wind chill effect, making it feel cooler than the actual temperature. In northern regions, temperatures are anticipated to drop, with reports of potential snowfall in parts of northern Norrland.

Weather conditions are projected to stabilize by Walpurgis Night, with less wind expected and the higher temperatures likely to persist, especially in the southern half of the country.

The southeastern regions are expected to experience the warmest conditions, with eastern Småland possibly reaching up to 20 degrees Celsius by Wednesday. In the broader southern region, temperatures are forecasted to range between 15 and 19 degrees, accompanied by variable cloudiness.

Even in the northern parts of the country, milder temperatures are anticipated, ranging from 5 to 10 degrees Celsius. The weather in these areas will also show variability, featuring a mix of sunshine, clouds, and occasional showers.

Recent temperature readings have been around or slightly below the seasonal average, according to SMHI. The influx of warmer air next week is expected to elevate temperatures significantly above the norm for the southern regions of Sweden.
