Authorities in Vienna have apprehended seven individuals in connection with an extensive operation targeting an alleged drug trafficking network. According to information released by the Vienna State Police Directorate, coordinated raids were conducted at multiple locations across the Austrian capital as part of ongoing efforts to combat organized narcotics distribution.

During the police action, three suspects were detained inside a residential property in the Floridsdorf district. Later the same day, law enforcement officers arrested another three individuals at a separate apartment in the Brigittenau area. The seventh suspect was also taken into custody as a result of the broader investigation.

As a result of the searches, authorities seized significant quantities of illegal substances. The confiscated items included approximately 20 kilograms of marijuana, 10.5 kilograms of cocaine, and three kilograms of hashish. In addition, officers found and secured over 1.1 grams of amphetamine (commonly referred to as 'speed') along with a sum of 70,540 euros in cash, which is believed to be connected to the suspected criminal operations.

During subsequent interrogations, two of the arrested men reportedly provided statements admitting involvement in the alleged offenses. The remaining suspects declined to comment or answer questions put forward by the investigating officers. All seven individuals were transferred to a correctional facility following a directive from the Vienna Public Prosecutor's Office. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities continuing to analyze evidence and pursue additional leads that could further clarify the scale and structure of the suspected drug organization.

The case underscores Vienna's ongoing efforts to clamp down on drug-related crime and highlights the cooperation between various law enforcement agencies in targeting organized criminal activity. Officials have not yet released further details regarding possible links to broader networks or the nationalities of those arrested, citing the sensitive nature of the investigation and the presumption of innocence for all suspects until proven otherwise under Austrian law.

This operation forms part of a wider initiative across the country to disrupt illegal drug supply chains, prevent the distribution of narcotics, and safeguard public health and safety. The Vienna police have reiterated their commitment to pursuing intelligence-led operations and working closely with judicial authorities to ensure that those suspected of involvement in organized drug trafficking are brought before the courts.
