Vienna has recently witnessed a disturbing uptick in armed robberies, with multiple incidents reported across different districts. In two separate cases within the Donaustadt district, firearms were involved, targeting a food delivery worker and two men seated on a park bench on the Danube Island.

The first incident occurred shortly after midnight on Thursday in Wagramer Straße, where a 28-year-old food delivery driver was cornered by three unidentified men as he was returning from a delivery. The assailants brandished a gun and demanded that he surrender all his cash and mobile phone. The delivery driver hesitated, prompting the robbers to strike him twice in the face. He managed to escape while shouting for help, and upon realizing that the attackers had fled without taking anything, he called emergency services. The driver received medical attention from the Vienna emergency services and was later released into home care.

In a related incident on the Danube Island at approximately 2:15 AM, police were called to investigate another armed robbery. A 29-year-old man and a 36-year-old man reported that while they were conversing on a park bench, two masked men approached them and threatened them with a gun, demanding all their cash. The robbers then fled the scene with the stolen money.

Additionally, a 14-year-old girl became a victim of a robbery on Wednesday morning at Friedrich-Engels-Platz in Brigittenau. She reported to the police that she was threatened with a knife by two other girls, who then struck her hard enough in the face to render her briefly unconscious. When she regained consciousness, she discovered that her cash had been stolen. The girl was subsequently transported to a hospital due to severe facial pain.

In yet another alarming incident, a 32-year-old mother was accosted while walking with her five-year-old son in Waldmüllerpark, Favoriten. A man on an e-scooter approached her and circled around before striking her on the chest and forcibly removing her gold necklace. He then fled the scene on his scooter towards Margaretengürtel.

Authorities have initiated investigations into all four incidents, but so far, search efforts have yielded no results. The Vienna State Criminal Police have taken over the case, urging anyone with information to come forward.
