A 30-year-old man sustained injuries in a knife attack on Sunday night in a courtyard of a multi-family residence located in Vienna-Margareten. The incident occurred around 11:00 PM, during which the victim suffered superficial stab wounds to his abdomen, thigh, and upper arm. Despite his injuries, he declined transport to a hospital, as reported by local police.

The assailants remain at large, and the motive behind the attack is unclear. The victim, a Romanian tourist visiting Vienna, stated he was heading to a local venue when he encountered two aggressive men in the residential area. According to police spokesperson Julia Schick, the victim was unable to recall the exact words spoken by the assailants, but their demeanor was confrontational.

In a sudden turn of events, one of the attackers lunged at him with a knife. The victim managed to escape and sought refuge in the courtyard. A nearby resident, alerted by the commotion, called the police after hearing one of the suspects shout for help. By the time law enforcement arrived, the perpetrators had already fled the scene.

An immediate search for the suspects was conducted but yielded no results. Witness descriptions indicate that one assailant had short black hair and was wearing a blue sports jacket adorned with three white stripes, paired with black trousers. This individual is believed to be between 25 and 30 years old. The second attacker was reported to be wearing a black jacket and gray pants, with both suspects reportedly of Arab descent.

The police are continuing their investigation into the incident and are urging anyone with additional information to come forward. The community remains on alert following this alarming event, highlighting concerns about safety in urban residential areas.
