A 36-year-old man is facing legal action after allegedly threatening to kill his wife and their two children on Monday morning using an intercom system. This incident occurred just hours after authorities had issued a restraining order and a temporary weapon ban against him.

Despite the legally mandated restrictions, the man returned to the family's residence in the Landstraße district of Vienna, where he rang the doorbell multiple times and issued threats. Law enforcement responded promptly and took him into custody for questioning.

Following discussions with the public prosecutor's office, the individual was released but remains under investigation for serious threats and potential ongoing domestic violence. Authorities have emphasized the importance of safety and support for those experiencing domestic violence and have provided resources for victims seeking help.

In Austria, resources are available for women facing violence, including the Women's Helpline at 0800-222-555 and the Autonomous Austrian Women's Shelters (AÖF), where further assistance and information can be sought. Additionally, the Vienna Violence Protection Center and various emergency hotlines are available to those in need.
