Kathrin Hömstreit Appointed as New Director of Treffpunkt Bibliothek

Kathrin Hömstreit has been appointed as the new director of Treffpunkt Bibliothek, a key service center for municipal libraries. Hömstreit, aged 47, grew up in St. Anton an der Jeßnitz in the Scheibbs district and currently resides with her family in St. Leonhard/Forst, located in the Melk district.

With a professional background in social pedagogy and literature mediation, Hömstreit brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Since 2019, she has been leading the specialized department for municipal libraries at Treffpunkt Bibliothek, where she has focused on enhancing library services and community engagement.

In addition to her role at Treffpunkt Bibliothek, Hömstreit is actively involved in training programs for volunteer and part-time librarians through the Austrian Library Association. She also coordinates the network of literature mediators, fostering collaboration and best practices among professionals in the field.

Her extensive background in library services and commitment to community education positions her well to advance the mission of Treffpunkt Bibliothek, which serves as a vital resource for local communities in accessing information and promoting literacy.
