Immediate financial aid for small businesses

The Bavarian State Government has set up an emergency aid program aimed at businesses and freelancers who have been faced with an existential economic imbalance and liquidity shortages as a result of the Corona crisis.

Who is eligible to apply?

Applications can be submitted by commercial companies with up to 250 employees and self employed/freelancers who have their business or work registered in Bavaria. Applicants must affirm that they are no longer able to meet their payment obligations. Before using the emergency aid, available liquid private assets must be used. Not to be counted in are, for example, long-term pensions (shares, real estate, life insurance, etc.) or means that are needed to ensure the livelihood.

How much is the help provided?

The emergency aid is graded according to the number of people in employment:

• up to 5 employees 5,000 euros,
• up to 10 employees 7,500 euros,
• up to 50 employees 15,000 euros,
• up to 250 employees 30,000 euros.

How to apply?

The application for funding can be downloaded from the website of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, https://www.stmwi.bayern.de/soforthilfe-corona/  as well as the websites of the seven district governments and the city of Munich (licensing and enforcement authorities) and completed online.

The applications are processed by the law enforcement authority below responsible for the applicant (depending on where their business is registered) and are explicitly not to be sent or emailed to the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs directly!
