Football Fans Steal Flags from Olympic Stadium

Munich. Police caught 4 football fans stealing corner flags from the Olympia stadium. In their defence the thieves said: "That's culture as a football fan, you have to do it once in your life."

According to police, the 23, 24, 25 and 37 year old men from Hesse climbed over a 2 metre fence to get into the stadium on saturday night. They grabbed 3 of the 4 corner flags. The 4 men escaped across the Mittleren Ring on foot.

A police patrol noticed the men at around 3.30 am, who were running along Landshuter Allee, carrying multiple flags. The officers reversed their car and stopped the men at Sapporobogen.

After denying it initially, the thieves admitted to stealing the flags from the Olympia stadium.
