Cyclists from Six Nations Compete in Ternitz Cross-Country Race

The Ternitz Kindlwald recently became a focal point for international cycling as 200 athletes from six countries gathered for a highly anticipated cross-country racing event. Organized by the ARBÖ Sparkasse Neunkirchen cycling club, the competition showcased the skills and endurance of participants across a variety of age groups and racing categories.

The event commenced with an emphasis on youth development, featuring young riders in the U7 to U17 classes. This opening day saw 55 aspiring cyclists tackle a challenging course that combined grassy fields, paved roads, and forest trails. Among the standout performances, Matteo Gamerl-Schimmel represented the local RC Neunkirchen club in the U15 category, securing an impressive fourth-place finish. In the younger brackets, club teammates Bastian Blecha and Sanan Shaidai, competing in the U11 and U9 categories respectively, achieved top-ten placements by finishing eighth and ninth in their divisions. These results highlighted the strength of the local club's youth development program and its ability to nurture emerging talent.
