Mon 21st Apr, 2025

A dedicated group of volunteers from the Kirchstetten community have once again come together to provide a warm meal for the homeless at the Caritas Care Center Gruft in Vienna. The meal, which served 190 individuals, featured hearty cabbage meat and vegetable curry, showcasing the spirit of community support and generosity.

The ingredients for the meal were largely donated by local businesses and community members. Notable contributions included meat from the Dachsberger company in Eggenburg, cabbage from local resident Waltraut Harm, potatoes from Manfred Walzl in Kapelln, and fresh vegetables provided by Zachhalmel fruit and vegetable market from Rust.

In addition to the main dishes, a variety of cakes were generously baked and donated by local bakers, adding a sweet touch to the meal. The collective effort of these volunteers and donors reflects a strong commitment to helping those in need within the community.

Participants in the meal preparation expressed that witnessing the gratitude of the homeless individuals they served was the most rewarding aspect of their efforts. This initiative not only aims to provide nourishment but also to foster a sense of community and compassion among the residents of Kirchstetten.

As they continue to engage in charitable activities, the volunteers hope to inspire others in the region to take part in similar initiatives, reinforcing the message of solidarity and support for vulnerable populations. The success of this event serves as a reminder of the positive impact that collective action can achieve in addressing social issues.
