Bomb or No Bomb?

The last year has seen many reminders of the war in Germany as construction in Munich has hit an all time high and workers continuously stumble across old and long forgotten bombs buried deep beneath the city. On Wednesday, another bomb was found in Pasing, causing the entire train station to be blocked off and evacuated, with surrounding residents asked to stay in their homes. Cars were rerouted but tram lines and buses were undisturbed.

The unidentified object was discovered by construction workers in their 4 meter deep hole. Work in and around the discovery ceased as police and experts were called in to evaluate the matter. The police and fire department had around 110 men on the job to ensure a safe removal of the bomb.

Shortly after, however, it was concluded that the dangerous bomb was in fact not a bomb, but a piece of a bomb that had exploded in the same place many years before. The piece had been buried again, without the idea that it could one day be the source of such a frenzy.

With a sigh of relief, the hole will be filled, with the metal bomb piece inside.

The questions remains on everybody's mind, how many more bomb scares will Germany have to endure before the bitter reminders of the past will rest.
